Methodology

How this calculator works

Converts an inventory requirement into a first-pass building-size target for search and layout planning.

Required positions = inventory pallets ÷ target utilization. Storage area = positions ÷ positions per 1,000 square feet × 1,000.

Use the result

Turn the number into a decision

Treat offices, docks, staging, returns, value-added work, battery charging, maintenance, and future growth as explicit requirements.

Use this result when facility, supply-chain, and engineering teams are comparing layouts, growth plans, expansion, or relocation options.

Run at least three scenarios—conservative, expected, and upside—so one optimistic assumption does not drive the project.
